Daiso Hacks and Accessories for Board Games and TTRPGs
We love board game and RPG game accessories as much as any other dice goblins. Organizing things is one of our favorite parts of the game experience and our favorite place to get those game accessories is Daiso!  If you have one in your neighborhood, you probably know how great this store is. If you haven’t heard of Daiso, it’s a Japanese discount store that sells most things for between $1.75 and $10. You can find all sorts of neat trinkets, housewares, and stationery. But most importantly you can find amazing accessories for gaming at inexpensive prices. Here are a few of our favorite Dasio finds for board games and TTRPGs.
Board Game Organizer
Some games (such as Uwe Rosenberg titles) come with a lot of parts to keep track of. And while we love custom board game inserts, these plastic boxes from Daiso usually work for our board game organizing needs. They can be found in a variety of sizes to fit your board game box needs.
Dice Wallet
This small wallet from Daiso fits sets of dice perfectly for in-box storage or on-the-go gaming. They are inexpensive enough that I bought a few to store different kinds of dice.
Dice Boxes
There are dozens of items at Daiso that can serve as dice boxes, trays, displays, and carriers. This box organizes dice sets for safe storage and easy access.
Dice Display
Don’t keep your dice locked up. Show off those beautiful polyhedral dice with a shelf to display in your dungeon.
Miniatures Shelf
These acrylic shelves are made to display things and what better to display than your miniatures collection. Or the miniatures that you plan on working on next (as seen in the photo).
Paint Holders
This is one of my favorite discoveries for painting miniatures. These plastic organizers from Daiso are made to display lipstick and cosmetics. But paint bottles from companies like The Army Painter and Vallejo fit nearly perfectly on these shelves. Now I can clearly see what paints I have and keep them organized.
The acrylic cosmetic displays can be pushed together for a larger display of paints. Clips are also available to hold these sections together.
Deck Boxes
These deck boxes run a bit bigger than the deck boxes from Ultra Pro and cost less. I use these deck boxes for many purposes from MTG decks to organizing board game parts. One set comes with two boxes that hold about 100 cards. The boxes can fit CCGs, trading cards, playing cards, or spell decks.
Most recently I packed four of these into a bigger carrier for an on-the-go tabletop game box.
Dice Tray
We use these small wooden trays as individual dice or part holders when we play board gamer or RPGs. It can be fun to have nice wooden trays to hold your parts or dice. Also keeps them safe from potential spills.
Dice Box
This stationery holder from Daiso is classy looking for the game table and inexpensive. It features a nice lining for your dice or game parts.
Chit Holders
Food containers from Daiso make great chit keepers for board games. We use this type of plastic container for game like La Havre that have lots of small pieces to keep track of. These allow us to keep our markets organized for easier setup and play.
RPG Character Portfolio
This was an inexpensive gift for some RPG gamers who I will be playing Call of Cthulhu: Delta Green with. The black portfolio can hold your character sheets, stats, cards, and pen. Goes with the theme of Delta Green and helps to keep papers in one place.
Zine Sleeves
I think that part of the appeal of zine collecting is their delicate nature. Like records and cassettes, zines and printed books hold worldly and important media but can be destroyed in an instant by the elements. For this reason I keep all my RPG zines in plastic sleeves. Keep your books safe with these A5 plastic covers from Daiso. They run a little wide for 8.5 x 5.5 zines but they fit A5 sized zines (like Mork Borg supplements) perfectly.
RPG Organizers
File folders and paper organizers from Daiso are the perfect solution for RPG character sheets, maps, and other materials. Labels, plastic folders, and these clipped folder portfolios are all from Daiso.
Plush Dice
Whether you have a toddler at the table or someone who’s a little too eager with their table-breaker, these plush dice will do no harm and bring a bit of humor to your next session. Great gift idea for the more aggro players in your group.
