Minecraft D&D DLC

Huge news this week for TTRPG and video gamers alike. Two of our favorite flavors are colliding this week in Minecraft’s Dungeons & Dragons DLC where you can explore iconic locations in the Forgotten Realms and battle legendary creatures such as Mimics and Beholders.

“We’re incredibly excited to partner with Wizards of the Coast, to introduce a brand new, story-driven Dungeons & Dragons DLC to Minecraft,” explains Riccardo Lenzi, Senior Producer at Mojang Studios. “We can’t wait for the community to dive in and experience a blocky take on the world of D&D.”

New Minecraft D&D Adventure Mode

The new Dungeons and Dragons DLC will be slightly different from the Minecraft sandbox players are used to. This expansion will include a new ten hour quest-driven adventure that includes four characters with special skills, stats, and storylines. This new adventure also allows players to customize stats and roll 20-sided dice to determine how to proceed. The pack will also offer creative mode and survival modes as well where players can use the D&D assets to create their own worlds.

From the publishers: In this new Minecraft D&D DLC, players choose among classes like Barbarian or Wizard and explore five iconic Forgotten Realms locations such as Candlekeep and Icewind Dale while defeating classic baddies like beholders, mimics, mindflayers and, of course, dragons! This new, original adventure allows players to customize their characters’ stats and roll 20-sided dice to determine how to proceed in fully-voiced dialogue. Play with friends and get a unique D&D experience in the world of Minecraft.
